About Jed

Welcome to Jed’s Speed Shop

Hi, I’m Jed a hot rodder at heart, and a lifelong enthusiast of classic cars, muscle cars, mostly anything with an engine and wheels. Like many of you, I spend just about every spare moment whether it's weekends, weeknights, or anything in between working on cars, bikes, boats, and engines with my mates and family. While others might unwind on the golf course or in the garden, my happy place is the garage.

Growing up surrounded by early hot rods and immersed in the culture, I had the privilege of learning from some truly talented and genuine people, including my Father John, and his circle of friends. Their influence gave me not just knowledge, but a deep respect for the craft and tradition of hot rodding. Without those early experiences, I wouldn’t have the skills or passion I have today.

As time goes on, many of us have noticed that hot rodding isn’t quite what it used to be. The days of stumbling across a $100 ’32 coupe or a set of magnesium wheels in your neighbor’s shed are long gone. With fewer young people getting involved and prices climbing, it’s becoming harder to keep the tradition alive.

That’s exactly why I started Jed’s Speed Shop – to offer traditional, pre-billet parts to like-minded enthusiasts here in Australia. Parts that are often hard to find locally but were once the building blocks of hot rods in the 1940s and ’50s. We carry both new and used components, and I do my best to keep prices fair so that the next generation of hot rodders can keep this amazing culture alive.

Thanks for taking the time to read a bit about me and the shop. If you’ve got any questions or you're chasing something specific, feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help.

See you on the road,
Jed Coinu
